UNU-CRIS, GRESI-FWO, and the IES are organising an Expert Workshop on "Indicator-Based Monitoring of Regional Economic Integration" in Brussels on 25-26 October 2012.

The workshop will allow experts from different world regions to meet and present their experiences in building indicator systems for monitoring the implementation of regional economic integration policies such as preferential trade areas, common markets or economic and monetary unions. Views will be exchanged on both technical and governance aspects of such systems, and best practices will be discussed. The regional experiences that wil be covered include: European Union, Eurasia/Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), ASEAN, East African Community (EAC), ACP, Americas, etc. Representatives from the World Bank, UNECA, The Asian Development Bank and the European Commission have confirmed their participation.
